The old man of England tells the world that his “favorite sport” that he plays every week is the secret to long life. Thai people like it too!
The secret to longevity: 92-year-old insists on doing only “one activity” once a week!

Ivan Pedley, a 92-year-old retired hardware mechanic in England, still competes in his favorite sport, playing table tennis once or twice a week. And says he has no plans to stop anytime soon, and is now teaching others the secrets of living a long and healthy life.
Pedley began playing table tennis at the age of 14, and has played 78 games a week since. In the past, he would visit Great Wyrley Table Tennis Club in Staffordshire, England, for about 14 games a week.
He now often plays against much younger opponents, and although his agility has slowed down a bit with time, he still says he is a tough opponent to beat. As success in the sport comes down to “technique” rather than speed.
“I try to play with everyone at the club. I enjoy every minute,” Pedley said, insisting that playing table tennis regularly is the secret to keeping fit and healthy. And continuing to play into old age is the best thing he has ever done. “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve never met anyone over 92 who plays table tennis.”
“I will continue playing as long as I am healthy. Don’t sit around doing nothing because it’s useless,” he said. He said he fell in love with table tennis when he was a teenager, and although he took a break in his 20s, he picked it up again when he was 60 after a game with friends on a holiday. He then started playing table tennis regularly and continued to do other activities such as bowling, swimming and judo.
Pedley says he feels he has improved at table tennis. Because he is playing with better players these days, and says with a sense of humor. “I let them win sometimes because I don’t want to discourage them.” He usually goes to the club on Tuesdays and Fridays, spending up to three hours each time.
“I don’t want to sit around. I like to stay healthy… *I keep going. It makes me get up and do it.”, “When you put your mind to it. You have to try to do it. I tell everyone to join the club.”, “I’ve participated in amateur competitions and got a certificate for what I did in table tennis.”
Club secretary Tony Reids said of Pedley: “He would play with anyone who came to the หรือถ้าคุณสนใจแทงบอลออนไลน์ UFABET คือเว็บที่มีอัตราต่อรองดีที่สุดในประเทศไทย สมัครเลยตอนนี้ที่ UFABET แทงบอล club to play table tennis. He became part of the club. He had a great game.”
After all, Pedley always tells people, “If you want to stay fit, this is the way to do it.”
Health and medical experts have consistently said that older adults should keep their bodies active, eat well, maintain relationships with others, and take care of themselves, both physically and mentally.
