Mohamed Amoura has joined Wolfsburg from Saint-Gilloise on a contract until the summer of 2029. Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz has confirmed. The signing of Algerian forward Mohamed Amoura from Belgian side Saint-Gilloise for €17m plus bonuses, Bild reported on Monday.
Amoura joined Saint-Gilloise from Swiss side Lugano last summer. And the 24-year-old forward scored 23 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions last season. As the club won the Belgian Cup, with Wolfsburg agreeing to pay an initial fee of €17m to sign the Algerian forward.
‘Mohamed attracts a lot of attention with his many qualities,’ Schindseelorz said. ‘We are delighted that he is a VfL Wolfsburg player. He fits our requirements perfectly, with great pace and a threat in front of goal. And can play in a variety of positions across the attack. We are sure that he will bring a lot of joy to VfL Wolfsburg and the Bundesliga as a whole.’
For his part, Amura said: ‘I am proud and happy to play for such a big club in Germany. I have always considered the Bundesliga as the next step in my career. So VfB Wolfsburg is the perfect match for me.’
